I love doing crafts with my boys. Normally during the winter that is all we do since we are stuck in the house because of the snow, dreading it even more this year with Hurleigh absolutely hating the snow, but we have ZERO snow! So, we have been playing outside as much as possible, enjoying this exceptionally nice weather. I totally makes me want to move to a place where it doesn’t snow. Did I just say that lol. I do love snow, I mean I’m from Minnesota where it would snow 3 feet and you had to shovel your car out and get to school asap. I am just enjoying this winter so much.
We decided today to break out the art supplies and make some snowflakes for their play area. I saw this idea on Pinterest and thought it would be so fun to do with both of them. Hurleigh has other ideas. As you can tell, he did not want to partake in the painting whatsoever. So, it became a Bentleigh and Mommy craft. All you need are popsicle sticks, paint, and a hot glue gun. You can make any pattern your heart desires. I glued them all together and let Bentleigh get started on his master piece. I love the way they turned out. Each unique and a one of a kind snowflake just for our family.
I had to cut him off from the black paint after a while. He did tell me black was his favorite color, even though I know it is not and he just said it because I told him it was mine, still melted my heart lol. He would have painted the whole thing black if I let him. Hurleigh just did his own thing, knocking down the teepee in the background at one point. I guess I can add painting to the list of things this child does not like. Overall, a successful and easy craft for everyone to enjoy.
